You are here from one reason...
You booked a session with me! Yay!
Let me give you a few tips ◡̈
What to expect...
Everyone gets nervous and normally the first couple minutes are a little awkward. BUT don't worry I am there to help guide and pose you to look natural and have fun! I include a combination of poses and prompts throughout the session, some standing, sitting and walking. Filling out the questionnaire is reallyyyy important to help me during your session. I want to make you feel comfortable! Let’s turn on some music, play a game, whatever you’d like!
Please remember I want to capture real life. You don’t always have to look at me and smile, be yourself, pretend I am not there. There is no pressure, I am here to help you, fix hair, crack a joke and answer your questions.
Oh what to wear?!
Make sure you are comfortable! Wearing something that you need to constantly adjust or that you don't feel comfortable in is not realistic and will not make you feel confident in the photos. Make sure it's you, whatever your style is find a way to incorporate it in your outfits! Keep your photoshoot location in mind when picking an outfit and shoes.
Coordinating outfits is always important but you don't have to look matchy-matchy. Picking a color scheme and adding different textures helps make the photos look beautiful. Do this by adding a pattern with one of the colors, a textured shirt or pants, and have some solids. Adding different accessories can also help! A nice hat, fun necklaces and other jewelry as well as watches and nice shoes can also make or break an outfit. Please make sure you don't have hair ties, Apple watches or anything else on unless you would like it in the pictures.
If you are worried you can ALWAYS feel free to send me a message and I would be more than happy to help you decide what outfits looks best and works with the location/theme.
What to bring to a session
For most sessions just bring yourselves! I ask that you leave wallets, phones, sunglasses etc. in the car so that way they do not show in your pockets in the photos. If it's chilly, bring a warm jacket that you can take on and off quickly between poses OR have a cute sweater, scarf, or jacket to wear with your outfit that matches well and you can wear in the photos.
BUT if your child has a special toy, lovey, etc. that you want to include in some photos feel free to bring some props.
